Kiryat Sefer Park Tel Aviv, 2013

ABOUT

Kiryat-Sefer parking lot was one of the last remaining open spaces in the densely populated center of Tel-Aviv. In the mid-1990s, initiatives for the construction of a high-rise residential complex in its place sparked a 15 year long community campaign, which led the municipality in 2010, to build a public park instead.

The main theme of the park, an “Ecological and Democratic park”, conveys a longing to belong to both community and nature.
