Walkability Tel Aviv, 2018

REED was invited as part of Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality’s masterplan to prepare a tool kit of interventions and policy recommendations, aimed at encouraging walkability in the city center. 

For this project, we developed a unique phenomenological research methodology. Inspired by Eugene Gendlin’s focusing practices, we collected data through ‘deep-walking’ interviews augmented by textual analysis, and GIS spatial analysis. The findings offered fresh insights concerning the efficacy of municipal strategies and interventions; interventions that facilitate an enhanced sense of Care, Belonging and Responsibility amongst the city’s residents.
